Red Velvet Crinkles are all you need. A very simple and classy cookie wrapped in the gorgeous shade of red, once you make them there's no way you can escape the deliciousness. 

Very simple to make you just need to be a little patient as we will be chilling the dough for few hours before we bake them. If you have been to the chocolate crinkles cookie recipe, you might have noticed that these cookies have a crispy coating over on the outside and slightly fudgy center. if I were to describe it even more precisely then I would call it a brownie cookie. 

To get that fudgy texture, I recommend using butter but it's completely fine if you are going to use vegetable oil, there wouldn't be much difference. 

You can choose to double the ingredients if you want more. However, this measurement will result in 24 cookies using a 1.5 tablespoon scoop.

Red Velvet Crinkles

This is a no fail recipe which definitely has to be in your winter goodies list as red velvet biscuits or crinkles: as you like it :)

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/3 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 2/3 cup Sugar
  • 3 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter ( I used 55 grams of butter)
  • 2 Medium Sized Eggs
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp Food Coloring ( I used powdered food color; you can adjust it however you like it to be)
  • 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 cup of Powdered Sugar
Instructions:
  1. Sieve flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder and set it aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, add butter and keep whisking until   creamy, and slowly keep adding the sugar and whisk it together. Now add eggs, vanilla extract and mix until creamy.
  3. Before adding the dry ingredients to our batter just add a small amount of red food coloring, now it's time to incorporate everything together and mix it well.
  4. Looks lovely isn't, holdback we just need to be cooling the dough for 4 hours (you can cool it longer if you want, this worked for me pretty well)
  5. The wait is finally over, before rolling the dough into a cookie lets first preheat the oven to 175ยฐC. Line up your cookies on a baking sheet. Let's roll the cookies while the oven preheats, roll the dough into balls of any size as you desire depending on how big you want the cookie to be ( if you want to be more precise, roll 1 tablespoon for smaller size and 2 tablespoon for a larger size cookie )
  6. Add the evenly rolled balls into the icing sugar and place your cookies on the baking tray, (make sure you do this quick, or else your dough starts to melt, and you will not get the desired results.)
  7. Bake them for 10-12 mins (I removed my gorgeous looking crinkles within 12 mins.) You may proceed to bake it 2 mins more if you like a harder cookie, I like to keep it fudgy.
  8. Let them sit for about 4-5 mins before serving.
